Truth About Honed Finish Quartz

A few years ago, starting with Ceasar Stone, many of quartz brands started launching honed finish quartz. The very first ones were to mimic architectural concrete. I loved the look the first time I saw them, but have shied away from using them, not knowing how they will perform in many of our multi-family housing projects with abusive tenants. This year, we have a project I really wanted to specify the honed finish quartz with the concrete look, so we put them to various tests.

We tested three different quartz from Pental with the honed finish.

1. BQ21025S Belgium Blue Satin

2. BQ277H Santenay Honed

3. BQ278 Paloma Honed

TEST #1

Mustard, ketchup, soy sauce, Tabasco

I had to go out of town for a business trip, and ended up leaving them over the weekend.

But with one warm water wish, they disappeared with no trace.

TEST #2

Wine got left on overnight - still, with one warm water wash, it disappeared.

TEST #3

Expresso got left on overnight - still, with one warm water wash, it disappeared.

All three quartz countertops with honed finish performed great.

I would not hesitate to specify these for any projects from now on.
